Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Happy summer greetings from the land of Germany!  We praise the Lord for your faithful support and prayer on our behalf—I want you to know that we think of you often, and we realize that if you were not faithfully standing behind us, nothing could be accomplished here! Thank you for your faithfulness!

A group from our sending church was here to visit in the spring, and they were a great blessing as we were able to accomplish much with their help. Not only were we able to get some physical labor done around the church, but we were also able to canvas some areas with literature.  In May I was invited to preach at an evangelistic service near Frankfurt (in German), and I had the privilege in June to preach at a singles retreat in Landstuhl.  I had not preached in English in a while, but I must say, it felt nice not having to stumble over my grammar! (at least not too badly!) For quite some time I have been preaching through the book of Acts on Sundays.  It has once again been a real blessing to see the power of the gospel as it spread across the world and changed lives in the first century—I have been energized by the fact that the same gospel has the same power today to change lives!  We praise the Lord for the many opportunities we have had to minister.  We have had the privilege lately of helping several hurting families through counseling, and just this week we were introduced to another family with whom we may begin counseling in the next week or two.  Please pray for wisdom as we seek to teach biblical principles for the family.  The University ministry has also been a great encouragement.  We meet three times a month, and have about 5-6 at the Bible studies.  The first Sunday in August we will be having a combined service with the American church—I will be preaching in German, and one of our German university students will be translating into English!  We are praying that some of the American families will be able to reach out to their German friends and neighbors.  Please pray that the Gospel will be clearly understood.  Julia and I will also be helping at our first German teen camp in August.  We have a fully packed week of teaching/counseling duty, and we are looking forward to the Lord doing great things in the lives of the teenagers.

On the home front, the kids are almost finished with the school year. (no that is not a typo—the last day of school for them is the 1st of August)  They are very ready for a break, and will also be at camp the same week that Julia and I are with the teens.  Levi just celebrated his 7th birthday, and is growing like a weed. (he is now wearing some of Kaleb’s old size 10 pants!) Julia’s mother and grandmother will be here to visit in September, and all three of the kids can hardly wait!

Thanks again for all that you do in the places where the Lord has put you.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do to be a blessing in return.  May God bless you as you follow Him!

Until He comes,

Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland!
